USS Cordray has survived three operations, but not whole. Her sonar is gone, a fireroom is crippled, her main fire-control director is dead, and her replacement steering motor was never built for her. Then she gets one more assignment: escort a large convoy of transports through waters where low-flying enemy aircraft can hide inside the radar's sea return.
