A platoon medic in Vietnam, and one canvas bag to keep men alive.
Call for Doc follows Daniel Tomczak, a medic from Dearborn, Michigan, with an infantry platoon in Vietnam. He packs the bag the same way after every call, because he has to know where everything is when there is not enough of it. Through a dry season in the paddies, a monsoon flood, a fight in open ground and a stand at a mission school in the fog, the helicopters cannot always come, and the wounded have to be carried to them.
