No Safe County (K-9 Fugitive Unit Book 1)

One night. Three counties. A contract killer with a list.

At last light on a canal bridge, a prison transport is stopped by a stolen beet truck and four men go into the drain ditch. One of them is Emory Vickery, a contract killer with a list of the people who can bury the prosecutor who hired him, and they all sit down with the state's investigators at first light. The other three are decoys carrying pieces of Vickery's shirt to split the dogs.

Detective Caleb Ross and his Dutch Shepherd, Rook, have until morning, a sheriff who won't let them into his county fair, a leak in their own command post, and a scared teenage burglar in the back seat who surrendered to the dog rather than be found by it.

No Safe County is Book 1 of the K-9 Fugitive Unit series.
